Dear Chris Bosh,
I heard today that you have been declared out for remainder of the season. My heart goes out to you because I know that you have a huge drive for a NBA Championship. In your situation, it boils down to two things. Your team physicians are afraid that you are at a very high risk for a lung clot. If you have been declared ineligible for the rest of the post season, you are likely declared ineligible for the rest of your career. Yeah, there is a good chance you will NEVER get a clearance.
The risk of a lung clot that could lead to fatal pulmonary embolism is too high if you are off of blood thinners. And the risk of bleeding is too high because there is a lot of physical contact in basketball. If you are willing to sign an ironclad waiver I am sure that the Miami Heat will let you play. However, I am sure you agree that your health and your family is more important that your career.
